The Original Pancake House was founded in 1953 by Les Highet and Erma Hueneke. Their original menu of authentic national and ethnic pancake recipes has gained national acclaim and remains unchanged to this day.

In 1999, the Original Pancake House received the James Beard Award in the category of “America’s Regional Classic Award”.
